Description
Tropical tree, 8 – 12 m in height under cultivation, but up to 40 m in its native environment.
Golden penda is a popular tree in frost-free areas, with showy golden flowers and glossy evergreen foliage.
With a tall and narrow form, it responds well to pruning and can be easily shaped into a shrub, hedge or screen with annual pruning.
The golden flowers appear in summer and autumn with a mass of stamen.
They attract birds, bees and butterflies to your garden when in flower.
The foliage is very attractive, changing from the multi-lobed juvenile leaf to a simple elliptical shape as the tree matures.

Climate: prefers frost-free warm temperate, sub-tropical and tropical climates.
Soil: prefers deep, moist but well-drained soil enriched with compost.
Watering: water regularly during establishment and dry weather.
The plant is pretty hardy, tolerates dry soil and requires almost no watering once established.
Regular watering improves flowering and performance.
