Description
ISC Stryder Foot Ascender – Precision Rope Climbing Performance
The ISC Stryder Foot Ascender gives you reliable, secure upward movement on single‑rope systems. Arborists, rope‑access technicians, and SRT climbers trust this device for its smooth performance and consistent rope engagement. It works with ropes from 8 mm to 13 mm, making it compatible with standard climbing lines used in tree work and access systems.
This left‑foot ascender uses a lightweight stainless‑steel cam with a coned face that grips the rope firmly while reducing wear on the sheath. The cam engages reliably with each step up the rope, letting you ascend with confidence and control.
A foot‑operable cam lever lets you open and close the cam using your other foot, so you can reposition quickly and efficiently without bending down. You can also remove the lever if you prefer a greater pivot range on the cam for deliberate rope disengagement using a kick technique.
The adjustable webbing straps tighten securely around most climbing boots. These abrasion‑resistant straps resist creep, so the ascender stays firmly in place as you climb. The under‑foot protective sleeve adds durability and comfort during prolonged use.
At approximately 198 g (7 oz) including straps, the Stryder stays lightweight on long climbs without compromising strength. It has a minimum breaking strength of 2.5 kN (~562 lbf), and it delivers consistent performance in demanding environments.
Whether you’re ascending for canopy access, rigging positioning, or rope‑management tasks, the ISC Stryder Foot Ascender Left gives you smooth upward movement, firm rope grip, and adjustable fit that suits professional climbers and serious enthusiasts alike.
