The Petzl Industrial Descender I’D Evac is a self‑braking rope descender designed for controlled lowering from a fixed anchor. It gives you steady control over the descent speed of people or loads and reduces the effort needed to manage heavy rope access tasks on rigging and rescue jobs.

This unit works with single ropes from 10 mm to 11.5 mm in diameter. It features an ergonomic handle that places your hand in the right position for descent control. The handle lets you feed rope smoothly and comfortably while keeping your grip secure.

The device builds safety into every descent. It has an anti‑panic function that automatically increases friction if you pull too hard on the handle, preventing uncontrolled drops. An anti‑error catch stops rope mis‑loading mistakes before they become a hazard during operation.

The AUTO‑LOCK system lets the rope lock in place automatically without you having to manually tie it off. Once locked, you can take up slack rope or pay it out again without twisting or re‑tying. A safety gate on the moving side plate lets you install the rope while the descender stays attached to the anchor point.

A built‑in auxiliary brake gives extra friction when needed for heavier loads or thicker rope, and the stainless steel wear plate reinforces the friction zone for long‑life durability.

This descender handles loads up to around 150 kg for a single user and 250 kg for rescue or two‑person lowering (specific limits depend on configuration and standards).
