Ophiopogon japonicus knows commonly as mondo grass or Japanese lilyturf, it is apart of the  Asparagaceae plant family, desired for is dense and tough evergreen foliage.
Small lilac flowers emerge throughout summer followed shorty after by blueberry like fruits.
Native to China, Japan and Korea, mondo grass is tolerant to drought, salt and rain.
