Adenia heterophylla commonly known as the Lacewing Vine, a climbing plant from the family Passifloraceae.
The lacewing vine grows in a variety of tropical forest types including rainforest, beach forest, monsoon forest and vine thickets.
It has a wide distribution spanning from the south eastern corner of China, through Indochina and Malesia, to northern Australia.
In Australia it serves as a food plant for larvae of the glasswing, red lacewing and cruiser butterflies.
Fruits grown in vibrant shades of red and are about 2-2.5 cm long.
Adenia heterophylla fruits each case multiple seeds of a greyish-brown colour.
