Description
Edelrid HMS Magnum Triple Lock Carabiner is a heavy‑duty HMS locking carabiner built for belaying, rappelling, anchors, and rigging where reliability and security matter. It’s larger than standard HMS biners, so it handles multiple connections without crowding.
Start with the shape. The pear‑shaped HMS design gives a wide top that makes clipping ropes, devices, and slings easier and faster. You don’t struggle to load it — you clip and go. The large inner radius also helps reduce rope wear over long use.
Lock it down. The triple‑action lock requires three separate steps to open. That means it stays shut until you intentionally unlock it. Accidental gate openings are rare. You get confidence at belays and anchors because the carabiner stays where you put it.
The keylock closure makes clipping and unclipping smooth and snag‑free. You don’t fight with rope or webbing — even with gloves on. That keeps transitions fast when working at height.
Despite the large size, the body stays light thanks to H‑profile aluminium construction. It uses material efficiently to keep weight down and strength up.
Strength numbers back it up. This carabiner is rated 24 kN on the major axis, 8 kN on the minor axis, and 9 kN with the gate open. It meets EN 12275 and EN 362 standards, so it performs to recognised safety benchmarks.
At around 89 g with a 22 mm gate opening, it gives plenty of room for ropes and hardware without feeling oversized.
In short, this carabiner gives you secure triple locking, smooth keylock clipping, large gate access, and reliable strength. It’s ideal for climbers, arborists, and riggers who need tough, trustworthy hardware where it counts.
