Synsepalum dulcificum is an evergreen shrub commonly known as miracle fruit tree.
Gainiung its common name for the small but extraordinary red fruit that it grows from May to October.
While the fruit itself is not sweet, when consumed fresh the fruit coats the consumers mouth and alters the tastebuds so everything tastes sweet.
The fruit removes the sourness or bitterness from the food buy removing the acidity however the natural aroma and taste will remain.
After consuming the fruit the the effects can last up to an hour or two.
