Syzygium wilsonii subsp. wilsonii (Powderpuff Lilypilly) – Tube Stock
Syzygium wilsonii subsp. wilsonii is a spreading shrub up to 3m tall from the myrtaceae plant family.
Generally distributed in North Queensland from Mossman to Cardwell in wet rainforests.
The Powderpuff Lilypilly grows pinkish leaves that change to a deep dull green when mature.
Getting its common name from its flowers that grow throughout June to December and add a great pink to red colour to the tree.
The flowers grow masses of long stamens which form a ‘powderpuff’ resulting in the name Powderpuff Lilypilly.
Tolerable to light frosts and dry conditions once established.
