Husqvarna 36V Battery Chainsaw 542i XP is a professional-grade battery chainsaw built for arborists, tree crews, and demanding job sites. It delivers strong cutting power and a responsive feel similar to a petrol saw but with all the benefits of cordless electric technology.
This saw runs on a 36 V lithium-ion battery system (battery and charger not included). It pairs a brushless motor with a clutch to deliver up to 1.8 kW of power and a 24 m/s chain speed at full throttle. This lets you make fast, clean cuts through limbs, logs, and larger timber.
The 542i XP comes with a 40 cm (16″) guide bar and SP21G/X-CUT chain designed for high-efficiency cutting. It works well for pruning, limbing, ground-level cutting, and general arborist tasks. The centrifugal clutch gives you smoother feel and instant restart control that you don’t usually get from battery saws.
This chainsaw is lightweight and easy to handle. Without the battery and cutting gear, it weighs about 3.1 kg, keeping fatigue low on long jobs.
Husqvarna built this tool to endure real work conditions. The body is IPX4 weather-resistant, so it stands up to rain and splashes. The saw has an inertia chain brake and automatic shutdown to boost safety and protect the battery. A savE™ mode helps extend runtime by reducing motor speed for lighter cuts. LED indicators show chain oil level and status at a glance.
Use the 542i XP with Husqvarna BLi-X batteries (such as the 40-B220X, 40-B330X, or BLi300). These slide easily into the saw and let you keep multiple packs charged for a full day’s work.
