Description
The ATOL Sewn Prusik Loop – 50 cm/E1 gives you a reliable, ready-to-use friction loop for climbing, positioning, and rigging tasks. It helps you set friction hitches on ropes quickly and consistently without tying knots each time.
This prusik loop uses STEIN ATOL accessory cord with a 9.0 mm diameter and a tough 16-plait polyester braid. It has a strong core and abrasion-resistant cover that stands up to repeated use on rough bark and hardware.
The sewn construction gives you secure, compact eye terminations at both ends. These sewn eyes stay less bulky than knotted loops. That helps you dress friction hitches more cleanly and precisely on ropes and devices.
This loop has an average break load (ABL) of around 2,250 kg, so it gives you plenty of strength for arborist and rigging applications. It performs well as a friction cord in DRT (double rope technique) systems and other common climbing setups.
Use this loop as a backup for ascending systems, a third-hand friction hitch, or part of a mechanical advantage system. It works with ropes of compatible diameter and meshes well with prusik minding pulleys and carabiners.
Inspect the loop before and after every use. Check for wear, abrasion, or cuts in the cord. Replace it if it shows signs of damage. Proper inspection and maintenance help keep your rope systems safe and reliable.
Carry this prusik loop in your kit so you always have a clean, strong friction hitch option ready when you rig, climb, or work at height. It’s a simple, durable tool that makes rope handling easier and more predictable.
