PETZL Footape Black

Description

The Petzl Footape Black is a simple, strong foot loop for rope ascents. It gives you a secure place to plant your foot while you climb. You attach it to a rope clamp such as the Petzl Ascension or Basic. This helps you climb faster and with less effort.

The loop uses durable nylon webbing. It resists abrasion and stays tough during repeated use. A height‑adjustable elastic keeps your foot in place no matter what shoes or boots you wear. The elastic holds your foot securely inside the loop during each upward step.

Petzl fits a DoubleBack® buckle to the Footape. This buckle lets you change the loop size quickly. You pull the webbing to tighten or loosen the loop to suit your climbing style. It stores flat when you’re not using it.

The underfoot section has a slightly rigid feel. This stiffness makes it easier to slip your foot into the loop and push against it with power. This improves efficiency during rope climbs and reduces foot slip.

At about 65 g, the Footape adds very little weight to your gear. It combines nylon, steel, and aluminium parts for strength without bulk.

Use the Petzl Footape in ascending systems, rope access setups, and work‑at‑height tasks. It pairs especially well with Petzl ascenders but also works with other brands that use similar attachment points.
